Hi! I’m Belinda Price, and I’m thrilled to see you here.  I want to help you get Stronger Every Day.

My passion is helping women age well and live their best lives.

I am a fully qualified yoga instructor and personal trainer who also happens to be middle aged.

My focus lies in working with women, perhaps like you, who are new or returning to fitness and yoga; those who have encountered challenges or self-doubt due to the impact of aging and the menopause.

I believe that strength, mobility, and flexibility are the essential pillars for ageing well;  they form the corners of a powerful triangle that can unlock the door to a vibrant and fulfilling life, regardless of age.

My motto is “Stronger Every Day” and my mission is to guide and empower you on your wellness journey.  I believe that it’s never too late to reconnect with your body, and reignite your passion for life.  With patience, compassion, and a sense of adventure, I’ll be by your side every step of the way.

I understand the unique struggles that can arise during this phase of life (believe me, I’ve been there), and have dedicated myself to providing a safe and nurturing space for transformation. Together, we’ll embark on a path that combines the healing power of yoga with personalised fitness strategies to enhance your physical and mental well-being. We’ll focus on building strength, restoring mobility, and fostering flexibility, all while cultivating a deep sense of self-acceptance and self-love.

Take a moment to explore the resources on this website. I invite you to join me in creating a future filled with vitality, joy, and a renewed love for yourself.

What I offer - Yoga

If you have never tried yoga “because you are not bendy” or if you did try once or twice and struggled because the pace or complexity was overwhelming, I can help you move beyond those initial bad experiences.  Yoga and it’s practice is not just for the bendy few, you can benefit from a beginning practice which will help you build a solid foundation to progress from.

I specialise in working with people who are new to yoga; by teaching the fundamental building blocks, I will set you up to practice safely and efficiently.  If you are thinking about returning to yoga, I am here to help you rediscover the joy of moving well and building on your previous practice.

Beginning a yoga practice in middle age can bring numerous benefits to your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Here are some of the benefits:

  • Yoga promotes flexibility, helping to improve joint mobility and range of motion. As we age, maintaining and enhancing flexibility becomes crucial, preventing stiffness and promoting overall physical comfort.

  • Regular yoga practice builds strength in both large and small muscle groups, improving overall stability and balance. This is particularly important in middle age when maintaining strength and balance becomes vital for daily activities and preventing falls.

  • Yoga incorporates mindful breathing and relaxation techniques, making it an excellent tool for managing stress and promoting mental calmness. By practicing yoga regularly, you can cultivate a sense of inner peace and better cope with the challenges of middle age.

  • Yoga focuses on proper alignment and body awareness, helping to correct posture imbalances that can develop over time. By becoming more aware of your body and aligning it correctly, you can alleviate strain on your spine and joints, reducing the risk of pain and injury.

  • Yoga offers a holistic approach to health, addressing both the physical and mental aspects of well-being. By practicing yoga, you can experience improved energy levels, better sleep quality, increased mindfulness, and a greater sense of overall vitality and contentment.

I offer yoga specifically tailored to beginners (a 4 week course), Vinyasa flow, Yin yoga, The Science of Stretching (formerly Gravity Yoga), and Chair yoga.  Whatever you might think about yoga, there is a style out there for you!

I am a 200 hour qualified yoga instructor.  I undertook my training (remotely) at the Yogabody School based in Barcelona during lockdown.  Since qualifying, I have continued to teach, train and practice.  I am registered with Yoga Alliance in the UK.

What I offer - Personal Training

I am a qualified and experienced Personal Trainer (Level 3) and Women’s Coaching Specialist.

I understand first hand the challenges of maintaining strength, fitness and mobility through peri-menopause, the menopause and beyond.

For me, one size does not fit all and I will work with you to optimise your training based on your personal circumstances.

As a woman of a certain age, I understand just how frustrating it is that your old tried and tested techniques for staying in good shape seem to stop working for no good reason when you approach your middle years.  Not to put too fine a point on it, many coaches are young people, who do not share my lived experience.

No disrespect to my excellent peers of all ages, but what works in your 20s and 30s does not necessarily work for middle aged women.  Another common mistake is when it comes to training women, we are not just ‘small men’ so a different approach is required.

I know, I have tried.

I understand how intimidating gym environments can be if you are feeling less than confident about your body.  No problem.  I have a full bag of tricks that I can bring to you.  We can train in the comfort and privacy of your own home… or if that doesn’t work, I am also adept at working with clients remotely (I offer in-person, remote and hybrid options for working).

Don’t be afraid to start at home, we can work up to public displays of ability when you feel ready.

Meal Planning

When embarking on a new diet and exercise regime, it’s essential to recognise the pivotal role of a good diet in fuelling your journey towards health and fitness.

A well-balanced diet provides the necessary nutrients, energy, and building blocks to support your body’s functions, optimise performance, and aid in recovery. It’s like the fuel that powers your engine, enabling you to perform at your best.

A diet rich in whole, nutrient-dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats nourishes your body, promotes sustained energy levels, enhances muscle growth and repair, and supports overall well-being.

By prioritizing a good diet, you lay a solid foundation for success on your path to achieving your health and fitness goals. Remember, what you put into your body matters just as much as the effort you put into your workouts.

As the old saying goes, ‘You can’t outrun a bad diet”; believe me, I know, I’ve tried every trick in the book.  I am nothing if not a realist and I understand the difficulty of making great choices all the time.

For me, the 80/20 rule applies.  Do the best you can for 80% of the time and make the best choices you can the remaining 20% – we are all human and have lives after all!

The most important thing here is the yogic concept of ‘Satya’.  It means ‘kindness’ and you need to silence the inner critic and be kind to yourself first and foremost.  We all slip from time to time. Accept it, file it, move on.

With my support and guidance you will start to learn the consistency that you will need along the way.

Functional strength training is a type of exercise that focuses on improving your body’s ability to perform everyday tasks.  It involves exercises that mimic the movements you make when you walk, run, lift, carry and bend.

Functional strength training can help you to:

  • Improve your balance and coordination
  • Increase your range of motion
  • Build muscle strength and endurance
  • Reduce your risk of injury
  • Improve your posture
  • Boost your metabolism
  • Lose weight
  • Improve your mood and energy levels

If you are looking for a way to improve your overall health and fitness, functional strength training is a great option.  It is a safe and effective way to improve your strength, mobility and balance, and it can help you to live a healthier life.

Flexibility & Mobility

The ability to move your joints and muscles freely and easily is important for overall health and well-being, and it can help to prevent injuries.

There are many benefits to improving mobility, including:

  • Reduced pain. When your joints are more mobile, they are less likely to become inflamed or injured. This can lead to a reduction in pain
  • Improved posture. Good posture requires good mobility. When your muscles and joints are flexible, you are more likely to stand and sit up straight. This can help to improve your appearance and reduce back pain
  • Increased range of motion. As you age, your joints tend to become less mobile. This can make it difficult to perform everyday tasks, such as getting dressed or reaching for objects. Improving your mobility can help to increase your range of motion and make it easier to do these tasks
  • Reduced risk of falls. Falls are a major risk for older adults. By improving your mobility, you can reduce your risk of falling and suffering a serious injury
  • Improved athletic performance. Athletes need good mobility to perform at their best. By improving your mobility, you can improve your performance in sports and other physical activities

There are many ways to improve mobility, including:

  • Stretching. Stretching is a great way to improve your flexibility and range of motion. You can stretch at home or at the gym
  • Yoga. Yoga is a great way to improve your flexibility, strength, and balance. There are many different types of yoga, so you can find one that is right for you
  • Walking. Walking is a great way to improve your overall health and mobility. It is a low-impact exercise that can be done anywhere
